Course Summary:

After 50 years of research related to assessment and treatment of dysphagia all that exists is weak evidence. The lack of information leaves clinicians with minimal guidance. The current course will examine current evidence and provide practical suggestions for a path forward.

Speech-language pathologists.

Instructor:

Ed M. Bice, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, has been an invited speaker on various topic in dysphagia both nationally and internationally he has guest lectured for universities as well as state and national conventions. He has served as an invited reviewer for the American Speech Language and Hearing Association Adult Dysphagia Practice Portal, which provides guidance to speech pathologist treating swallowing across the United States. Ed has been a guest on national and international dysphagia podcasts, written blogs concerning dysphagia-related topics for internationally recognized Dysphagia Cafe and has numerous peer reviewed publications. As adjunct faculty, he teaches graduate level swallowing courses at the University of Maryland.
